Job Description:
The Home Care Technician will function under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Manager and under the general supervision of the Office Manager.

 The Home Care Technician is responsible for the provision of general durable medical equipment and supplies to the company’s patient population, as ordered by a physician.
            
CUSTOMER SERVICE:

1.Treats all patient and families with dignity and respect, ensuring their right for modesty and privacy at all times.

2. Consistently demonstrates courtesy in the patient’s homes, on the telephone and with co-workers.

3. Maintains strict confidentiality of the patient and company information.

4.Demonstrates competence in identifying immediate patient needs, and responds to those needs effectively.

5.Acts professional and efficiently at all times, keeping personal phone calls and interactions at an absolute minimum.

6.Displays ability to listen attentively and eagerness to learn new skills.

7.Willingly seeks additional work when assigned tasks are completed.
               
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
               
Equipment Set-Ups              
Equipment Pick-Ups              
Equipment Cleaning and Warehouse Maintenance
Patient Education & Safety            
Takes “on call” time on a predetermined, rotating basis            
Performs other related duties as requested by supervisor.

 PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

The Home Care Technician will only provide medical equipment through the authority of the ordering physician.  He/she will continually strive to increase and improve his knowledge and skill and render to each patient, the full
measure of his/her ability, providing all durable medical equipment and services with respect for the dignity of the patient.   He/she will at all times behave in a manner conducive to a professional and positive working environment.  When assignments are completed, he/she will willingly seek additional tasks.
             
SKILL:

Must possess a basic level of skill in working with respiratory and general durable medical equipment. Must have good interpersonal relationship skills in dealing with patients, families, physicians, other health care workers and co-workers.
             
MENTAL APPLICATIONS:

Requires constant modification in the application of home medical equipment, as the possibility of patient injury exists.  Must be mentally alert to any signs of patient injury as a result of home medical equipment or services.  Must be able to plan and organize work for effectiveness and efficiency.  Must be able to effectively respond to change of work assignment, multi-tasking and frequent interruptions.
             
EDUCATION:

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
