I. IDENTIFICATION:

JOB TITLE: Service Technician
SUPERVISOR: Sr. Seating Technician–Primary, Director of Rehab and Rehab Operations Manager-Secondary
II. POSITION DESCRIPTION:

A. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Service Technician will function under the direct supervision of the Sr. Seating Technician and as a vital member of the rehab team and will have general supervision by the Rehab Operations Manager.

The Service Technician is responsible for assessment and repair of complex rehab equipment. This key position serves our customers and ATP(s) by ensuring that all complex rehab equipment is repaired in a timely manner. This involves working closely with the Sr. Seating Technician, Seating Technician(s), ATP(s), Complex Rehab Specialist and associated HLM branches.

B. CUSTOMER SERVICE:
1. Treats all customers, families, referral sources, doctors, vendors, and co-workers with dignity and respect.

4. Consistently demonstrates proper phone etiquette, identifying company and self with each greeting, answering the phone in 3 or less rings and minimizing the use of “hold.”

6. Demonstrates competence and knowledge in all work-related activities.
7. Acts professional and efficiently at all times, keeping personal phone calls and interactions at an absolute minimum.
8. Displays ability to listen attentively and shows eagerness to learn new skills.
9. Willingly seeks additional work when assigned tasks are completed.

C. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Evaluates/accesses problem(s), delivers and repairs on all complex rehab equipment
2. Attaches appropriate paperwork (i.e., new patient folder) and appropriate educational hand-outs to delivery
3. Maintains electronic filing in a current and orderly fashion.
4. Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

III. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

A. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
The Service Technician will be responsible for the competent and efficient performance of his/her assigned duties. He/she will at all times behave in a manner conducive to a positive working environment. When assignments are completed, he/she will willingly seek additional tasks.

B. SKILL:
Must have a high level of mechanical aptitude. Must possess a high level of skill in working with computers and various software programs. Must be organized and self-motivated in keeping his/her calendar, return phone calls, emails and text messages. Must have good interpersonal relationship skills in dealing with superiors, referral sources, physicians and office staff, co-workers and outside vendors. Must exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly when on the telephone.

C. MENTAL APPLICATIONS:
Must be able to plan and organize work for effectiveness and efficiency. Must be able to effectively respond to change of work assignment, multi-tasking and frequent interruptions.

D. EDUCATION:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.

E. EXPERIENCE:
Prefer minimum of one (1) year experience in healthcare setting. Prefer specific CRT (Complex Rehab Technology) experience.

F. ACCURACY:
Must demonstrate a consistently high degree of accuracy in the accomplishment of daily activities and adherence to company policies and procedures.
